Life Styles of the Rich and Famous

When thinking of a city that has produced a lot of famous people and has lots of money, one might think of Los Angeles or New York City.  It’s rational to believe that those large coastal cities have produced the most famous people, but that’s certainly wrong.  Between those cities lies Nebraska, which has been noted to have the most famous people come out of it. From actors to authors, Nebraska has clearly inspired many people to fulfill their dreams.  Through researching, I found five famous people that many wouldn’t know were from Nebraska.

Larry the Cable Guy is a stand-up comedian, actor, voice actor, and former radio personality.  Born in Pawnee City, Nebraska on a pig farm helped this redneck develop his country attitude and accent.  He’s best known for his voice as the character Mater in Disney’s Cars.  He now resides in Lincoln, Nebraska on a 180-acre farm.

Another celebrity with some Nebraska history is Hilary Swank.  She was born in Lincoln, Nebraska, but ended up moving after her parents split up when she was 10.  This actor is best known for her roles in The Next Karate Kid, Beverly Hills 90210, Million Dollar Baby, and Freedom Writers.  Her success story and elegance makes all Nebraskans very proud.

Responsible for every woman’s favorite love story is Nicholas Sparks, and yes, you guessed it, he’s from Nebraska!  On December 31, 1965 Sparks was born in the city of Omaha.  He has two siblings that have been a large inspiration within his writing.  His younger sister was Sparks’ influence for his 1999 novel A Walk to Remember when she died at 33 because a brain tumor.

Another creative mind from Omaha is the one and only Alexander Payne, who is a director, screenwriter, and producer.  Payne’s family was part of the fabric of Omaha, which he references as part of his upbringing.  He graduated from Creighton Prep, which is a private Catholic high school in the heart of Omaha.  Payne is best known for his work in Jurassic Park III, Sideways, The Descendants, and Nebraska.  Nebraska is extremely proud of the work he’s done.

Nebraska’s most profound native is one of the world’s richest.  He’s often called the “Oracle of Omaha” or “Wizard of Omaha,” but is more commonly referred to as Warren Buffet.  Born in raised in Omaha, Nebraska, Buffet developed a mind for earning and saving money at a very young age.  By the time he was a junior in high school he was already investing in companies.  He attended the University of Pennsylvania and then soon transferred to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.  Buffet's full profile can be accessed here.  His demonstration of life long learning has been an inspiration to all.

Nebraska is overlooked when it comes to the fame and fortunate.  The state has clearly produced some of America’s most talented citizens.  Nebraska is proud of all work these people have done and can’t wait to see what the future brings.
